Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple and the first to be recorded by the now “classically inspired” group that emerged from the fall of 1984.
After several recent attempts to assemble a group from the instigation of record companies, the group was found to be in the beginning of 1984 with the instigation of Ian Gillan. On April 18, 1984, a contract was signed, and on April 27, the band was announced on BBC radio. After many years of rock, work alongside musicians and singers began to work, and an album of recordings spanned six to eight years in the spring of 1984. The riffs "Perfect Strangers" and "Knocking at Your Back Door" were prepared by Blackmore and Glover during Rainbow hours.
In view of his own absurdity, Blackmore complained that the album should be called “Resolve the Album of 1974 Rock,” drawing attention to the fact that the remaining album of recordings in its warehouse was released in 1973 (Who Do We Think We Are). This passion was not lost without success: the album of ours has already gone platinum, ranking 5th in the hit parade in Great Britain and 17th in the USA. Deep Purple crashed their world tour, culminating with a performance in front of 80,000 British fans at Knebworth Park in 1985.
The album was released on LP, CD and cassette in November 1984, and the other two releases included the bonus track “Not Responsible”. On June 22, 1999, the rock album was released again, which also included the instrumental composition “Son of Alerik,” previously available on the B-side of the UK release of the Perfect Strangers single.
