Avatar [Blu-Ray]

Avatar 2154. Jake Sully is a former Marine who was wounded in Venezuela and confined to a wheelchair. His twin brother, being a scientist, must travel 4.3 light years to the earthling base on the planet Pandora (a moon of the gas giant Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri system), where the RDA corporation (Resources Development Administration) extracts exclusively the mineral unobtanium (a semi-joking term in English fiction, denoting a necessary but hard-to-find substance, literally “inaccessible”, which can most correctly be translated into Russian as “shortcomings”), which has enormous commercial value. Avatars are genetically engineered hybrids obtained by combining the DNA of humans and the indigenous inhabitants of the planet Pandora - the Na'vi. An avatar can be remotely controlled mentally, and only by the operator for whom it was created (or its genetic double, for example, a twin). Jake's brother dies tragically on the eve of departure. Since creating a new avatar is very expensive, Jake receives an offer to replace his twin brother in controlling the avatar, even though he lacks the proper scientific experience. Jake's initial motive is to earn enough money for an expensive operation and start walking again.
